Ingredients
- 2 cups bulgur wheat
- 1 kg ground lamb or beef
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and grated
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup pine nuts
- 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp allspice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

1Soak bulgur in warm water for 15 minutes until softened, then drain well.

2Mix half the bulgur with grated potatoes, 1 chopped onion, salt, and pepper to form the outer shell mixture.

3In a separate bowl, cook ground meat with remaining onion, pine nuts, mint, cumin, and allspice for the filling.

4Press half the bulgur-potato mixture into a greased baking pan.

5Spread the meat filling evenly over the base.

6Cover with remaining bulgur-potato mixture, pressing gently.

7Score the surface into diamond or square shapes with a knife.

8Drizzle generously with olive oil.

9Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

10Serve hot, cutting along the scored lines.
