Ingredients

  • 500g semolina flour
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 300ml warm water
  • 100g softened butter
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp honey for serving
  • 50g butter for serving

Instructions

    Mix semolina, flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Gradually add warm water and knead until smooth and elastic.

    Divide dough into 8 balls, cover and let rest for 20 minutes.

    Mix softened butter with oil. Flatten each ball on an oiled surface into a thin square, brushing with butter mixture.

    Fold the edges toward the center to form a square, then fold again to create layers.

    Cook on a lightly oiled griddle over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

    Serve warm with drizzled honey and a pat of butter.
