Manakish with Za’atar

Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 300 ml warm water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons za'atar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for topping)

Instructions

    Mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar in a large bowl

    Add warm water and 3 tablespoons olive oil, knead until smooth dough forms
  3. 3
    Let dough rest for 10 minutes

    Divide dough into 4 equal portions and shape into balls
  5. 5
    On a floured surface, flatten each ball into a thin oval shape about 6mm thick

    Brush each oval with olive oil and sprinkle generously with za'atar

    Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat

    Cook manakish for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy

    Serve warm, optionally fold in half
