BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 soft hamburger buns
  • 2 cups coleslaw

Instructions

    Pat pork shoulder dry and season generously with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper on all sides.

    Place seasoned pork in a slow cooker and add apple cider vinegar around it.

    Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, until pork is extremely tender and shreds easily.

    Remove pork and shred with two forks, discarding any excess fat.

    Return shredded pork to slow cooker, add barbecue sauce and brown sugar, and stir well.

    Cook on low for an additional 15 minutes to heat through and infuse flavors.

    Toast hamburger buns lightly if desired.

    Serve generous portions of pulled pork on buns, topped with coleslaw.
