Medium
Ingredients
- 4 slices brioche bread
- 2 eggs
- 100 ml whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 200 g mixed fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Pinch salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
-
1Prepare the berry compote: Combine fresh berries, honey, and lemon juice in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer gently for 5-7 minutes until berries soften and release their juices. Stir occasionally and remove from heat.
-
2Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a shallow bowl until well combined.
-
3Heat butter in a large skillet or griddle over medium heat until foaming.
-
4Dip each brioche slice into the egg mixture for about 2-3 seconds per side, ensuring it absorbs the custard but doesn't become soggy.
-
5Place coated brioche slices on the hot buttered skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until crispy and golden.
-
6Transfer to serving plates, top with warm berry compote, dust with powdered sugar, and serve immediately.
