Ingredients
- 4 slices of brioche or day-old bread
- 2 eggs
- 100 ml whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 apple, sliced
- 1 pear, sliced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- pinch salt
- powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions

1In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.

2Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add apple and pear slices, sprinkle with brown sugar, and cook for 5-7 minutes until caramelized. Transfer to a plate.

3Add remaining butter to the skillet. Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture for 2 seconds per side, ensuring it absorbs the liquid without becoming soggy.

4Cook the dipped bread slices for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

5Plate the Pain Perdu and top with caramelized fruits. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
