Ingredients

  • 1 large egg (preferably room temperature)
  • 200g hot steamed white rice
  • 1.5 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 sheet nori seaweed (optional)
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • to taste salt

Instructions

    Cook white rice and transfer to a bowl while still hot.

    Crack the egg into a small bowl and beat it lightly with a fork, being careful to keep the yolk intact if preferred.

    Pour the soy sauce over the hot rice.

    Pour the beaten egg over the soy sauce and rice.

    Stir vigorously with a fork or chopsticks until the egg is fully incorporated and creates a creamy coating.

    Top with torn nori seaweed strips and chopped green onion.

    Serve immediately while the rice is still steaming hot.
