Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 200 ml warm water
  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 5 g salt
  • 30 ml olive oil
  • 100 g zaatar spice blend
  • 60 ml olive oil for topping

Instructions

    Mix warm water, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

    Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Create a well in the center and pour in yeast mixture and 30ml olive oil.

    Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

    Divide dough into 4 equal portions and shape into balls. Let rest for 10 minutes.

    Flatten each ball into a thin oval about 5mm thick on a floured surface.

    Mix zaatar blend with 60ml olive oil to create a paste.

    Spread zaatar mixture evenly over each flattened dough piece.

    Place on a preheated baking sheet and bake at 220°C for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.

    Serve warm immediately.
