Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 300 ml warm water
  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 5 g salt
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • 60 g za'atar spice mix
  • 1 pinch sugar

Instructions

    Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl, let sit 5 minutes until foamy.

    Combine flour and salt, then add yeast mixture and knead for 8 minutes until smooth dough forms.

    Add 30ml olive oil to dough, knead 2 more minutes, then let rise covered for 30 minutes.

    Divide dough into 4 balls, roll each flat into 8-inch circles.

    Mix za'atar with remaining olive oil to create paste.

    Spread za'atar mixture evenly over each dough circle.

    Bake on preheated 220°C (425°F) oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

    Serve warm, optionally with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and labneh.
